Sew It Begins – A Beginners Guide to Leaning How to Sew

Learn sewing basics in this beginner-friendly class, perfect for starting your creative journey—no experience needed! 3 weekly classes.

Join experienced seamstress Joan Lofgren for this hands-on introduction to sewing, perfect for those new to the craft or looking to build confidence with the basics. Joan brings years of expertise in clothing and accessory design to guide you through essential techniques, tools, and terminology.

Throughout the class, students will learn foundational skills such as threading a machine, understanding fabric types, and mastering simple stitches. By the end of the course, each student will complete a sewing project of a beautiful bag to take home—an ideal way to apply what you’ve learned and celebrate your progress.

A supply list will be emailed to registered students prior to the first class. Students must bring their own sewing machine.
