Summary Job Description
This position will perform customer service, clerical duties, and various project activities that provide assistance to library patrons, including students and the general public, as well as library personnel.
Typical Duties
- Check-in and check-out books
- Re-shelve items
- Customer service at front counter
- Answer phones and take messages
- Keeping library clean and tidy
- Book inventory
- Book repair
- Process books
- Special projects as needed, usually clerical in nature
- Use of Word, Excel and other college programs to create/update documents and files
- Assistance in art gallery installation and tear down
Employee Qualifications
- Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good reading and writing skills
- Must exercise maturity in dealing with peers and confidential information
- Able to work independently and follow directions
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to lift moderate weight while bending and stretching
